The Jan Foundation involver’s volunteers from the community in tackling one of the community’s most damaging issues – domestic violence.
Jan Foundation train’s volunteers to give long-term mentoring support to victims of domestic violence. They train and support community groups to find new ways to effectively tackle Domestic Violence in their neighbourhoods.
Domestic violence affects the whole community in so many ways. We show local people in South West Birmingham how to actually do something about the problem and to find their own solutions and work together to lobby for the domestic violence services they need in their area.
If Jan Foundation were successful in their application for a Natwest CommunityForce Award they would use the award to fund training and the support of more community groups in SW Birmingham ensuring that they can continue the work they have started.
